The postpartum wardrobe for body positivity

Girl, your belly spent 9 long months expanding and your body was the creation station for a new life! If you’re looking forward to skinny jeans and bikinis, but aren’t sure what to wear until you get there, keep reading.
The first thing to know is that the baby belly doesn’t disappear right away. Most mommas experience an extended belly for weeks or months after delivery as the uterus shrinks back down to size and as the muscles relax and the body burns offstored fat.
Don’t be surprised if the clothes you find comfy are maternity pieces. Think of them as transitional pieces and enjoy the freedom of flexible wasitbands!
Yoga pants and stretchy tube skirts may be your new go-to’s! The light compression provided by that type of fabric can feel really good on a tender tummy and achy hips. The wide waistbands also make it easy to accommodate a belly band if you find that helpful.
Consider creating a postpartum capsule that includes a pair of comfy black yoga pants (with a wide stretchy waistband), a stretchy tube skirt (in a length you love) and a couple of tank tops that you can layer over a nursing bra and pair with a cardigan, sweatshirt or jacket.
While your postpartum body may frustrate you, do treat yourself with the tenderness you deserve. Remember that it took nine months to bake that baby and it may take nine months (or more) to recover. Healthy is hot. Confidence is hot. Happiness is hot. Your worth, sexiness and status are not linked to your weight or how flat your belly is... so wear something that makes you feel good and focus on being the healthiest, happiest you!
Massage in the postpartum period helps bring the body back to it's pre-pregnancy alignment and gives moms an opportunity to process their experience by releasing any held tension gripping them from birth. A massage within the first week of postpartum or six weeks after cesarean section feels wonderful. Our c-section scar recovery program can help you start to rehabilitate 6 weeks after your surgery. This type of scar tissue can cause a restriction of movement and ultimately lessen blood flow to the entire pelvic area.
Postpartum services include full body massage in the style of mother roasting, infant massage education for parents and caregivers as well as c-section scar recovery program.
