the philosophy
Yomassage was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to therapeutic touch. In order to make this happen, we created a modality in which clients can receive therapeutic touch in a small group setting. In addition to offering massage at an accessible rate, Yomassage classes appeal to more people because they are fully clothed and offered in a safe environment.
The “Yo” in Yomassage is based on the principles of yoga: focus on the breath (pranayama) and the yogic philosophy of looking within. The combination of touch, gentle stretch, and mindfulness provide an avenue for relaxation and healing.

The Bright Light Within
By letting go of your worries and concerns, you make room for happier thoughts, creative ideas, and beautiful moments to come. Give yourself permission to let go of the worries from your day. Allow them to gently float away with this anxiety melting, guided meditation coupled with restorative stretch, mindful breathe and nurturing touch.
Self Care Series
In this series you may choose either 3 consecutive bundle or individual sessions
Grounding: In this class, we will focus on grounding as a way of practicing self-care. Sometimes daily stressors or going through difficult experiences in our lives can lead us to feel disconnected from ourselves like we’re simply going through the motions. “Grounding” is a practice of coming back to the moment and being connected to our experience. Throughout our class, we’ll explore different strategies for grounding. Practicing these strategies in your daily life may help with reducing stress and riding the waves of difficult emotions and experiences.

Gratitude: In this session, we will focus on gratitude as a way of practicing self-care. Taking time to consciously appreciate aspects of our lives can positively impact our mood and how we relate to circumstances around us. There are many benefits of a daily gratitude practice such as stress reduction, decreased anxiety and overall satisfaction with daily life. And we don’t need to have something profound happen in order practice gratitude, it can be as simple as giving thanks for nice weather or enjoying a good cup of tea.

Self-Compassion: Practicing self-care involves making choices for ourselves that are kind. This, in and of itself, is a practice of self-compassion. Getting into the habit of intentionally practicing self-compassion has many benefits on our ability to manage stress, anxiety, depression and just improve our overall sense of well-being and fulfillment in life. Throughout our class, I invite you to make compassionate choices based on what you need moment to moment. This will look different for each of us, and that’s perfectly fine. I will also offer affirmations, which are positive statements about yourself in the present moment. Using kind and nurturing self-talk with ourselves is another way to cultivate self-compassion and often a practice.

Prenatal Theme
In this class, designed for pregnancy, you will be guided into deeper relaxation and connectivity with your growing baby. You will be completely supported with the use of bolsters, pillows and blankets as you are prompted through restorative yoga postures, gentle stretches all while receiving massage therapy in a fully clothed and calm setting.

Chakra Meditation - Energetics
The seven chakras represent how energy flows through our bodies and brings awareness to the places in our spirit that need the most attention. When we tune our hearts to this primal messaging system, we become our own best listener and most trusted guide. During this meditation, we will learn about the seven chakras while visualizing the colors that are connected with each one while receiving reiki energy based healing.

Christine Baade is a licensed Massage Therapist specialized in women’s health, a certified Yoga Instructor and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Her mission is to support you in finding comfort in your body through a mind-body holistic wellness approach designed to nurture, inspire and empower.

the practice
Christine Baade, LMT. is a certified Yomassage Therapists with additional certifications in energetics and trauma informed bodywork. Her sole focus is to make sure everyone feels comfortable and welcome throughout the entire class. When you walk in the room, you will be greeted with warm smiles. Christine will walk you through a series of comfortable and supported Yomassage positions which resemble restorative yoga postures fully supported by bolsters, blocks and blankets that will be held for 5-10 minutes. While you are relaxing in these positions, you will be guided through breath work and mindfulness exercises as she walks around to massage you in each position. You will end the class having received a full body massage, and feeling a state of ultimate relaxation.
Yomassage classes are kept small, provided individually and to couples so each client receives individual attention from their therapist. Clients can expect a warm room with mood lighting and soft music. Everything will be provided for you, so there is no need to bring anything. Yomassage classes are suitable for all levels, no experience required.

MINDFUL TOUCH™ AT HOME BY YOMASSAGE®
The Mindful Touch™ at Home course will provide you with the resources and knowledge needed to intentionally and mindfully incorporate Mindful Touch™ into your everyday wellness routine. You will learn from Dr. Tiffany Ryan about the importance of safe, healthy touch and its impact on our mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.
In this course we will cover social distancing and it’s challenges, the impacts of touch deprivation, the benefits of safe touch and its ability to relieve stress and anxiety, communication and consent around touch and offer suggestions for the type of touch to give, where, when and how to give it.
